El Aguila Bakery - El Sereno, CA - About Us
El Aguila is a full service Mexican Bakery. Our menu includes Mexican cakes, pastries, and cookies. The menu includes Pasteles (cakes), Cupcakes, Pan Dulce, Gelatinas, Flan, Tamales, Aguas Frescas, Raspados, and Champurrado. We bake for the everyday sweet tooth, as well as for Weddings, Birthdays, Parties, Quincineras, and more. Located in El Sereno, we service all of Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
El Aguila History:
El Aguila opened on May of 1973 by Apolinar Casillas (Founder). Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Apolinar worked his whole life as a baker, handing down his recipes and techniques to 3 different generations. He was the Head Baker at El Aguila from it’s opening until he handed the bakery over to Vicente Hoguin when Vicente was only 20 years old. Vicente has been the head baker for many years, and still works El Aguila today. He is now joined by Luis Juarez as another head baker who has been with the family business for many years.
This is the 3rd generation of family members to run El Aguila. The 2nd generation now tends to their grandchildren at home. With the bakery being passed down through the generations, we’ve kept the same recipes and techniques, keeping our proud Mexican culture true to form. We use the same ingredients, and even brands that Apolinar used when he opened up the bakery.
We hope we may give you a taste of the wonderful Mexican Culture in our home made recipes and delicious baked goods. Let us warm your hearts and bellies with the same sweet goodness we’ve grown up with. Welcome to El Aguila!
